Southeastern Community Music School to present free concert

HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University’s Community Music School will present
a concert on Saturday, Sept. 15. Titled “Outstanding Musicians Showcase,” the free
concert is scheduled at 1 p.m. at the Hammond branch of the Tangipahoa Parish Library.
Community Music School Director Jivka Duke said the concert will feature the
CMS Outstanding Musicians chosen by audience votes at the school spring recitals,
as well as the Solo Audition Winners who will also perform as soloists with the Southeastern
Symphony Orchestra in late November.
“We are excited to show off our students’ musical skills and are very grateful
to the Tangipahoa Parish Library for inviting us and hosting our concert,” said Duke.
“We hope to have a great turnout to make this event a true celebration of talent and
creativity.”
Participating students include Michael Noble-Hodge of Ponchatoula, piano; Ellie
Ridgell of Denham Springs, violin; Kelsey Jones of Albany, violin; Emma Cecchini of
Denham Springs, violin; Anna Johnson of Hammond, violin; and Ava Chatellier of Ponchatoula,
piano.
