HAMMOND – Two representatives of Southeastern Louisiana University have been
selected for the University of Louisiana System Management and Leadership Institute.
Budget Director John Paul Domiano and Mohammad Saadeh, head of the Department
of Industrial and Engineering Technology, will take part in the two-semester program
for faculty and staff who aspire to broaden academic, professional or administrative
leadership roles.
Domiano began working at Southeastern in 2015. His responsibilities as budget
director include oversight of the University’s current operating budget, as well as
long term financial analysis and planning. Domiano previously served as the audit
director for the Louisiana Community and Technical College system, where he oversaw
investigative, grant compliance, and risk based audits.
An expert in the fields of mechatronics, control and dynamics, instrumentation,
optimization, artificial intelligence, and system identification, Saadeh recently
joined the faculty as head of the Department of Industrial and Engineering Technology
and also serves as associate professor of Engineering Technology.
The Universities of Louisiana Management and Leadership Institute launched in
2017. The 9-month institute immerses participants in rigorous programming designed
to gain a deeper understanding for effective leadership in higher education. Throughout
the two semesters, members visit each of the nine universities and ultimately produce
a group project that addresses some of the challenges of higher education.
