Southeastern to present Northlake Community Band concert

NORTHLAKE COMMUNITY BAND TO PERFORM – Music composer Eric Morales conducts the Northlake Community Band as they rehearse his composition “American Dance Episode,” which was written for the band. The piece will premiere during the Northlake Community Band concert scheduled Dec. 10, at 7:30 p.m., at Southeastern Louisiana University’s Pottle Auditorium.
HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University will present the Northlake Community
Band in concert Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 7:30 p.m. Titled “Delightfully Diverse Dances,”
the free concert will take place in Pottle Auditorium on Southeastern Louisiana University’s
campus.
Dr. Jerry Voorhees will conduct the concert that features two world premieres
and works by John Philip Sousa, Augustine Lara, Camille Saint-Saens, J. S. Bach, Eric
Morales, Johann Strauss, Carl Michael Ziehrer and others.
The Northlake Community Band consists of musicians from high school students
through retired professionals and always welcomes new members.
