HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Science and Technology
– Workforce Talent Initiative is sponsoring two free Amazon Web Services cloud computing
professional development workshops - AWS Cloud Foundations and AWS Cloud Data Analytics
Foundations.
Scheduled Sept. 27 – Nov. 8, both fully online courses run simultaneously and
are asynchronous. Registration is not required for both courses; however, those not
familiar with AWS or cloud computing are encouraged to do so. Registration is available
at https://forms.gle/LRTGHo3DeR11qvcLA until 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 24.
Workforce Talent Initiative Program Coordinator Paul Forbes said the AWS Cloud
Foundations course prepares participants to sit for the certification examination
in cloud foundations.
“The AWS Cloud Analytics Foundations course is an introductory or ‘lite’ version
of the Data Analytics Specialty certification course,” Forbes said. “The course serves
as an introduction with hands-on analytics labs. It does not prepare participants
for the AWS Cloud Data Analytics Specialty certification exam.”
“Southeastern’s College of Science and Technology is pleased to offer these courses
at no cost as a community service to help prepare Louisiana’s workforce for current
and future jobs in information technology,” he added. “Lion Up to take your career
to the next level.”
