DXC Technology established a Digital Transformation Center in New Orleans in May 2017. With a forecast of 2,000 jobs over five years, DXC in coordination with Louisiana Economic Development (LED) turned to the state’s four higher education systems for help to prepare students to meet the workforce demand.

The State of Louisiana is funding a $25 million higher education initiative over five years to increase the annual number of degrees awarded in computer science, technology and related STEM studies. LED’s FastStart Program is providing oversight and guidance for this initiative.

Southeastern serves as one of the lead campuses spearheading the initiative. Accordingly, the university acted quickly to work with faculty to develop curricular and co-curricular responses, as well as to provide enhanced instructional resources for students.
