Founder and CEO of MVM
Mr. Marquez is the founder, chairman and chief executive officer of MVM, a world-wide concern employing hundreds of security professionals and safety consultants. MVM adapted the principles of security developed by the U.S. Secret Service to meet the needs of private and public sector clients in the areas of security personnel management, executive protection, logistics management, investigations, technical security, and security training.
Earlier in his career Mr. Marquez received training in Y.S. Secret Service Law Enforcement and was commissioned as a Special Agent for the United States Secret Service. In 1986 he was elected Chairman of the White House Conference on Small Business; in 1987 he was appointed to the Southeastern University Board of Trustees; in 1989 the D.C. Office of International Business awarded MVM the Export Excellence Award, followed in 1992 by the Blue Chip Enterprise Initiative Award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Marquez was named one of the "100 Influential" by Hispanic Business Magazine in 1993, and "Entrepreneur of the Year" by the Latin American Management Association in 1994. Marquez is a member of the Advisory Committee on Hispanic Affairs, a Senate Task Force, and chairman of the Hispanic Business Leadership Council.
