Southeastern Computer Science Department to present Industry Connect Lecture

Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of Computer Science is hosting the first of the spring Industry Connect Distinguished Lectures Feb. 17 at 4 p.m.

HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of Computer Science is hosting the first of the spring Industry Connect Distinguished Lectures Feb. 17 at 4 p.m. Scheduled in the Envoc Innovation Lab, located in room 2026 in the Computer Science and Technology Building, the free lecture is titled “Can Data Science Spot Fake News.” Shubhangi Rastogi, an experienced researcher with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry, will serve as guest speaker.
     Rastogi is pursuing her doctorate from Punjab Engineering College in India and also working as a data science intern in The Logically Advanced R&D in the United Kingdom. She is currently working on automated fake news detection concerning national security and politics. She has worked on various data science projects with different government and private organizations.
