Southeastern Louisiana University’s Center for Southeast Louisiana Studies recently announced that incoming history graduate student Tristin Gaspard of Metairie has been named the 2024-25 Nicholas Cefalu Graduate Research Scholar. Gaspard received his undergraduate degree from Loyola University and plans to use the scholarship funds to advance his research into regional politics in the Long era.
The Nicholas Cefalu scholarship was created to honor the memory of the long time Louisiana state legislator, businessman, and philanthropist. It is funded by Dr. Ann Kay Cefalu Logarbo and the Cefalu family and is awarded each year to an outstanding graduate student conducting regional research consistent with Cefalu’s interests.
