Southeastern professor named 2024 Top Scholar by ScholarGPS

Southeastern is proud to recognize Dr. David Wyld, professor in the Department of Management and Business Administration, for being named a 2024 Top Scholar by ScholarGPS. The respected global scholar ranking tool provides fully quantitative evaluations of scholars and universities worldwide.

Wyld was named a Top 50 scholar in radio-frequency identification (RFID) and a Top 200 scholar in the broader field of radio frequency.

Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is a technology that uses electromagnetic fields to automatically identify and track objects, primarily for inventory management and logistics purposes. According to ScholarGPS, Wyld has authored nearly 100 publications and accumulated more than 1,300 predicted citations.

Being named a Top Scholar places Wyld among the top 0.5% of scholars worldwide, a distinction that highlights his outstanding research contributions and the lasting impact of his academic work throughout his career.

His research productivity ranks in the top 0.33% of over 29 million scholars worldwide and in the top 0.26% of researchers in the field of business and management. Additionally, the quality and impact of his research place him in the 98th percentile of scholars globally, according to ScholarGPS.
