For Shannon Zumo, nursing education is the natural extension of a career centered on care, connection, and lifelong learning. After years of supporting patients through life-changing moments, she found a new calling in mentoring others—discovering how rewarding it is to help students grow in confidence and skill. Southeastern’s nurse education concentration has allowed her to turn that passion into a path, combining her clinical expertise with a growing talent for teaching.

As she continues advancing her education, Shannon is building the foundation for a career dedicated to shaping capable, compassionate nurses. Her goal is simple but powerful: to make a lasting impact by sharing her knowledge, encouraging curiosity, and inspiring future caregivers to find the same fulfillment in nursing that she has found herself.
