Southeastern’s Columbia Theatre to present tribute to David Bowie

Southeastern Louisiana University’s Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts will present New Orleans’ own Electric Ramble and friends as they perform “Golden Years: A Louisiana Tribute to David Bowie.” The musical tribute is scheduled Aug. 7, at 7:30 p.m., and will take place at the Columbia Theatre, located at 220 East Thomas Street in Hammond.

Columbia Theatre Artistic Director Jim Winter said to expect wild wardrobe changes and surprise guest musicians as they celebrate an incredible musical legacy that produced Ziggy Stardust, Space Oddity, Heroes, Let’s Dance, Young Americans and many more hit songs.

“Electric Ramble blew the roof off of our theatre when they played their set at our Woodstock tribute a couple of years ago. I cannot wait to hear and see their take on David Bowie’s catalogue,” said Winter. “David was an inspirational force in music, film, fashion, and even scenic design. Come join us for an incredible evening of all things Bowie.”
