Southeastern’s Columbia Theatre to screen ‘Top Gun’

Southeastern Louisiana University’s Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts will present a special 40th anniversary screening of “Top Gun.” The screening is scheduled at 7:30 p.m., Aug. 29, at The Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts, located at 220 East Thomas St. in Hammond.

Columbia Theatre’s Resident Film Historian Jason Landrum will introduce the film and share some fun facts about its making, massive influence, and continuing legacy. Free popcorn and Top Gun swag bags will be available with ticket purchase.

“Tom Cruise, a legendary soundtrack, and incredible flight sequences made Top Gun the highest grossing movie in the world in 1986,” said Artistic Director of The Columbia Theatre Jim Winter.
