Southeastern Louisiana University School of Nursing Department Head Lindsay Domiano has been named one of Louisiana’s Great 100 Nurses for 2026, recognizing her contributions to the nursing profession, commitment to students and colleagues, and service as a mentor and role model.

The Great 100 Nurses Foundation honors registered nurses who demonstrate concern for humanity, make significant contributions to the nursing profession, and serve as mentors and role models to others. Over the past 39 years, the Great 100 Nurses Foundation has honored thousands of nurses from multiple states, recognizing each one as a “Nurse Hero.”

“Dr. Domiano is an exceptional nurse, educator and leader, and we are extremely proud to see her recognized among Louisiana’s Great 100 Nurses,” said Dean of Southeastern’s College of Nursing Ann Carruth. “Lindsay’s commitment to our students, faculty and the nursing profession is evident in the leadership she provides every day. This recognition is a wonderful reflection of the impact she has made on nursing education and on the many students and colleagues she has mentored throughout her career.”

Domiano, an associate professor of nursing, has served as department head of Southeastern’s School of Nursing since 2023, providing leadership to more than 50 nursing faculty. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Southeastern and her Ph.D. in Nursing Education and Administration from William Carey University. Her areas of expertise include nursing education, medical-surgical nursing and emergency department nursing.
