Dr. Ken Tillman currently serves in the role of Assistant Dean, College of Nursing and Health Sciences. He is a Professor in the School of Nursing. Dr. Tillman holds a Ph.D. from Louisiana State University, a M.S.N. from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston, and a B.S.N. from the University of South Alabama. Dr. Tillman previously served as Department Head of the School of Nursing (2019-2023).

Area of Expertise

Dr. Tillman’s research interests primarily focus on marginalized and underrepresented groups in healthcare. He has conducted research on the lived experiences of men in nursing, men and minority nursing faculty, nursing students enhancing the care of LGBTQ persons, veteran and military nursing students transitioning to college and the stigmatization of obese and overweight patients. Dr. Tillman has also published on topics related to men’s health issues, service learning and spirituality.
