The Energize Project
Free Computer Science Praxis Training!
The Energize Project is proud to announce its fourth year! Funded by the Louisiana Department of Education, this program provides 40 hours of free training to prepare 6th to 12th grade Louisiana teachers for the Computer Science (5652) Praxis exam. The Energize Project is a collaboration between the Louisiana Department of Education and Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of Computer Science and College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences. This program empowers Louisiana teachers of grades 6-12 to effectively bring Computer Science education to their classrooms, energizing learning experiences across the state.

2026 - 2027 Cohort Options
Fall Online Cohort (Apply by 10/5/26)
- Dates: October 19 – January 3, 2027
- Format: Asynchronous, 8 weeks
- Capacity: 75 Participants
- CS Praxis voucher available upon completion
- Skill level: Best suited for self-motivated individuals with prior knowledge who are new to Energize.
Virtual Cohort (Apply by 10/5/26)
- Dates: October 19 – May 30, 2027
- Format: Virtual, live alternating sessions on Saturdays
- Schedule: Saturdays, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
- Capacity: 50 participants
- CS Praxis voucher available upon completion
- Skill level: Our most beginner-friendly option, suited for all skill levels who are new to Energize.
Resource Cohort (Apply by 10/5/26 or 1/4/27)
- Dates: October 19 – May 30, 2027
- Format: Asynchronous
- Schedule: At your own pace
- Capacity: 200 participants
- CS Praxis voucher for completion (subject to availability and eligibility)
- Skill level: For all previous Energize participants.
Spring Online Cohort (Apply by 1/4/27)
- Dates: January 19, 2027 – May 30, 2027
- Format: Asynchronous, 16 weeks
- Capacity: 75 participants
- CS Praxis voucher available upon completion
- Skill level: Best suited for self-motivated individuals with some prior knowledge who are new to Energize.
