Mr. Cottrell has returned to Southeastern after numerous years of working as a Quality Control Analyst in the industrial chemical field. He has held positions at BASF and Occidental Chemical here in Louisiana and has also lived for five years in England in which he ran his own seaside restaurant and worked at Sigma Aldrich Fine Chemicals. His time at SAFC included stability testing in the pharmaceutical development and manufacture of pre-trial active pharmaceutical ingredients (API's). Prior to obtaining his Chemistry degree here at SLU, Mr. Cottrell was enlisted in the US Naval Submarine Force for five years and trained as a nuclear propulsion plant operator and then served on the fast attack nuclear submarine, USS RAY: SSN 653.
