Scholarships

The following scholarships are granted to IET students based on the critiera under each scholarship. To be considered for a future scholarship, please fill out the following application.

 

Greater Baton Rouge American Society of Safety Professionals Endowed Scholarship

1.)  Must be an Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment major in good academic standing.

2.)  Must have completed at least 30 credit hours (sophomore, junior, or senior standing).

Turner Industries Endowed Scholarship in Industrial and Engineering Technology

Note: Spring only award

1.) Must be enrolled in a curriculum offered by the Industrial and Engineering Technology Program.

2.) Must have successfully completed 60 semester hours.

3.) Must have a GPA of 2.7 or higher.

Theodore G. “Teddy” Betz, Jr. Memorial Scholarship in Industrial Technology

1.)  Must be enrolled full-time.

2.)  Must have completed 60 hours toward a degree in Industrial Technology.

3.)  Must have financial need.

Edward Blanchard Memorial Endowed Scholarship in Industrial Technology

1.)  Must have a minimum overall college GPA of 2.75.  Beginning freshmen must have a minimum overall high school GPA of 3.0.

2.)  Must be majoring in Industrial Technology, or a beginning freshman who plans to major in Industrial Technology.

3.)  Must be enrolled full-time.

4.)  Must have a strong work ethic.

5.)  Preference will be given to a student who exhibits an interest in ship building.

Francis C. St. Blanc Memorial Scholarship in Industrial Technology

 

1.)  Must be enrolled full-time.

2.)  Minimum GPA of 2.5.

3.)  Must demonstrate financial need.

4.)  Must be majoring in Industrial Technology.

5.)  Preference will be given to a student pursuing Drafting.

6.)  Must have at least 60 hours toward a degree in I.T.

Frederick Emmendorfer Endowed Scholarship in Industrial Technology

1.)  Must be majoring in Industrial Technology.

2.)  Must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.5.

3.)  Recipients may be an undergraduate or graduate student.  (To consider a first-semester undergraduate student, s/he must have had a minimum overall high school GPA of 2.5. To consider a first-semester graduate student, s/he must have had a minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 2.5.)

 Taylor Jeansonne Endowed Scholarship in Industrial Technology

 

1.)  Minimum high school GPA of 3.0 or minimum college GPA of 2.75.

2.)  Must be majoring or planning to major in Industrial Technology.

3.)  Must be of good moral character with a good work ethic.

4.)  Must be enrolled full-time at SLU.

Trasie Jeansonne Endowed Scholarship in Industrial Technology

1.)  Minimum high school GPA of 3.0 or minimum college GPA of 2.75.

2.)  Must be majoring or planning to major in Industrial Technology.

3.)  Must be of good moral character with a good work ethic.

4.)  Must be enrolled full-time at SLU.

Joey Lewis Scholarship

1.)  Minimum high school GPA of 3.0 or minimum college GPA of 2.75.

2.)  Must be majoring in Industrial Technology.

3.)  Must be enrolled full-time.

4.)  Must have good moral character with a friendly, outgoing, and caring attitude.

 James R. Owens Endowed Scholarship in Industrial Technology

 

1.)  Must have a minimum overall college GPA of 2.75.  Beginning freshmen must have a minimum overall high school GPA of 3.0.

2.)  Must be majoring in Industrial Technology, or a beginning freshman who plans to major in Industrial Technology.

3.)  Must be enrolled full-time.

John Searles Endowed Scholarship in Industrial Technology

1.)  Must be a sophomore, junior, or senior with a minimum GPA of 2.75.

2.)  Must be an Industrial Technology major.

3.)  Must be of good moral character with a strong work ethic.

4.)  Must be enrolled full-time.

Linda Holt Sullivan Endowed Scholarship in Occupational Safety and Health

1.)  Must have a minimum college GPA of 2.75; minimum high school GPA of 3.0.

2.)  Must be of good moral character and have a strong work ethic.

3.)  Must be enrolled full-time at SLU.

4.)  Must be majoring in Occupational Safety and Health (OSHE).
