Southeastern Louisiana University High School Concert Band Day
The Southeastern Louisiana University Concert Band Day will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 in Pottle Auditorium on the Southeastern Louisiana University Campus. If you are a high school student who is interested in participating in this event, we welcome and encourage you to participate in this new event that we are hosting. This event is open to all woodwinds, brass, percussion and string bass. If you are interested in performing with the Southeastern Louisiana University Wind Symphony, please fill out the form below:
The day will consist of sectionals with members of the Wind Symphony as well as rehearsal time with the full ensemble to prepare for the concert, which will take place at 3pm in Pottle Auditorium. The Concert Band Day concert be a joint concert with the Wind Symphony and consist of the repertoire that was worked on in the sectionals and rehearsals. The music will be distributed to students via email prior to the event. The deadline to register for the event is Wednesday, February 23rd. The Wind Symphony will also perform a few selections of their concert, which will take place on Tuesday, March 8th. To offset the cost, we will charge a fee of $10.00 per student that includes lunch. The dress for the concert will be all black (black shoes, black pants, black socks, black dress pants for men, appropriate all black for ladies). The schedule for the day is as followed:
9:00am Sectionals with Members of the Wind Symphony
10:30am Full Ensemble rehearsal
12:00pm Lunch (provided)
1:00pm Full Ensemble rehearsal
2:30pm Change for Concert
3:00pm Concert in Pottle Auditorium
