Printmaking explores the aesthetics, nature, and process of the printed image. The sequence of courses exposes students to a multitude of traditional and contemporary processes such as intaglio, relief, silkscreen, lithography, and digital inkjet printing. Students accumulate a broad range of printmaking knowledge and skills before deciding on an individual artistic specialization.
Our print shop features four etching presses, three silkscreen vacuum tables, one lithography press, two clam shell letterpresses, and a large format exposure unit. The print shop also includes a computer lab equipped with a medium format inkjet printer, ten digital drawing tablets, ten iMac computers, four small format scanners, and a medium format scanner, for contemporary hybrid print exploration.
