MBA Professor

How do I apply for the program?

You apply for our program on our website.  The online application is located at www.southeastern.edu/apply/graduate/index.html .

What do I need to be admitted?

In addition to having a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, applicants must meet ONE of the following criteria listed under Application Information.

* International students must also have a minimum TOEFL score of 500 OR a minimum internet-based TOEFL score of 75.

Can I take graduate classes while still an undergraduate/senior student?

Yes. A Southeastern senior may register for graduate credit if he/she has at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA on previous undergraduate work attempted, lacks no more than 9 hours to complete the baccalaureate degree requirements, and has taken the GMAT and received a minimum score of 430. The student may earn no more than 6 graduate credit hours while completing baccalaureate degree requirements. Courses taken for graduate credit cannot be used to satisfy undergraduate requirements. The student retains undergraduate status until awarded the baccalaureate degree. The student shall maintain a minimum cumulative graduate GPA of 3.0 while in the concurrent program. In a regular semester, the student may register for no more than 15 hours, six of which may be graduate course work. Students in this category will have to be advised by the MBA Director and will only be able to register during regular registration.

When should I take the GMAT and how do I register?

It is strongly advised that prospective students prepare for the GMAT in advance (see How do I prepare for the GMAT?) and schedule to take the exam at least a month in advance of the semester you wish to enroll. By preparing in advance and taking the exam early, students would know well in advance if they meet the admission requirements of the program and perhaps have enough time to retake the exam if needed.

How do I prepare for the GMAT?

The following link provides some resources that you may wish to consider in preparing for the exam. There are certainly many other types of GMAT preparation books, software packages and courses you may wish to consider to bolster you test scores.

What are the prerequisites?

In addition to an undergraduate degree from an accredited university, students will have two - three specific prerequisite courses (or their equivalent taken in another college or at another university – to be determined by the MBA director). For more information on these specific prerequisites, please see the MBA Curriculum.

Can I start the MBA program without having all of the prerequisites?

Yes. Working with the MBA Director, you can be accepted into the MBA program and work on both undergraduate prerequisite as well as other graduate courses that do not necessarily require those prerequisites.

How long is the MBA Program?

The MBA Program is a 33-hour interdisciplinary program consisting of 11 graduate courses. Depending upon when they enter and how they schedule their courses, students may be able to complete the program in a calendar year. Most students enrolled in the program finish in a year to a year and a semester.

Are there deadlines to apply?

To see the current application deadlines, as well as registration fees, please visit Application Information.

When can I start?

Students may apply for and be accepted to begin taking courses in any of the three semesters: Spring (January), Summer (June) or Fall (August).

"The MBA program gave me a greater sense of appreciation of the global business industry. The limited number of students in the classroom made the class interactive and enjoyable while the accessible professors made a robust learning process."
