Honors Program

Southeastern Louisiana University’s Honors Program seeks to educate the whole student and to bridge the gap between curricular and extracurricular learning. The Honors Program hopes to draw curious, motivated and dedicated students who want to be a part of a diverse community of scholars.

Honors Program Members Can

  • Take Honors versions of many courses in the university's general education curriculum
  • Work closely with faculty on research projects and scholarly/creative activities
  • Compete effectively when applying for graduate programs, prestigious awards, recognitions, and career opportunities
  • Learn from some of Southeastern’s best professors
  • Enjoy smaller seminar-type classes, usually with no more than 20 students
  • Take advantage of priority registration each semester
  • Receive priority housing in Honors residence halls
