Orientation

orientation

Each summer, Southeastern hosts a series of orientation programs, inviting students who have been accepted for the upcoming fall term to get a jump on the transition to college. Participants get a crash course in College 101 with everything from learning about policies and procedures to meeting with faculty advisers and registering for classes. Don't worry; it's not all work and no play. The program is filled with informative and fun activities including outdoor barbecues, spirit competitions and Late Night Orientation- an evening full of music, dancing, food and fun. Experience college life first hand and to learn what it takes to be successful at Southeastern.

How Do I Attend?

You will be invited to attend a specific program date based on when you applied and were admitted to the university. The earlier you applied - the earlier you get invited to Orientation. You can move to a later program date, but you are not eligible to move to an earlier program.

Northshore College & Career Fair

High school students and their parents can get an informal introduction to college as well as valuable information about scholarships, financial aid, and admissions requirements at the Northshore College and Career Fair. One of the largest college fairs in the state with more than 100 participating colleges and universities from throughout the state and nation is open to all Tangipahoa Parish and St. Tammany Parish high school students and their parents, the event is scheduled in cooperation with the public school boards of both parishes.

How Do I Attend?

Students can pre-register for their own special bar code at lacollegefairs.com to use at the event. Many vendors will be able to scan the codes to collect the students' contact and interest information, eliminating the need to complete information cards at each table.
