Getting Started

As a faculty member new to the University, learning your way around can be challenging. The following information will assist you with both the physical and electronic navigation of your new surroundings!

ID - Upon employment at Southeastern, you are issued an identification number, otherwise known as the "W" number. Your "W" number will appear on your Southeastern ID card which is required to use many University resources (Shuttle, library, Student Activity Center). You can obtain your ID from the Campus Card Operations office located on North campus in the Main Building, Room 223, Ext. 3990. You will need to explain that you are a new faculty member and present proper photo identification, as well as the authorization slip provided by Human Resources. Please plan to have your photo taken for the ID card.

Your “W” number will also be used to login to a variety of online resources (see below). All of these are authenticated with the same "W" number and password.

LEONet, Linking Effectively Online, houses Southeastern’s Administrative system. This system will be used to certify your time for payroll and also provides faculty access to student records, class schedules, grade rosters, grade reports, etc. Read more at http://www.selu.edu/leonet/index.html

Tutorials can be found in the Faculty Support for Moodle site located on the Moodle login page and in the course list of your Moodle account.

The Center will also host hands-on training sessions for Moodle throughout the semester to help you create active, engaging, interactive courses. Dates, details and registration information can be found at calendar.

Please review Southeastern's Distance Education Policy for more information on blended and online courses.
