Housing Agreement Buy Out

Cancellation Information

Once an individual has completed the agreement on the portal, the student is then placed in a binding Housing agreement with Southeastern Louisiana University. If the student wishes to request termination of that binding agreement, the student must complete an Agreement Buy-Out Form. Directions on how to proceed can be found below. 

Process:

  • Complete the Agreement Buyout here

  • Allow 5-10 business days for the paperwork to be processed.  You will receive further instructions via your Southeastern webmail.

  • Appeals process for housing exemptions.

ALL students not returning for the next semester must be checked out of their room by 10AM on the Friday of Final Exams. Students not correctly checked out by this deadline will be charged a $250 improper check-out fee (no exceptions), including students submitting the Agreement Buy-Out Form after this date. Students who are not properly checked out will also be assessed a daily room rate based on the price of their room for each day after the checkout deadline, unless prior arrangements have been made with University Housing.

Prior to submitting this form, be sure that your plans are definite.  Once cancelled, the student’s spring booking will be removed and made available to new students. ONLY submit this form if you are certain that you will not reside on campus for the spring semester.

 

Buyout Information

Students completing the Agreement Buy-Out Form will be assessed a $750 buy-out fee unless they meet one of the following exceptions:

  • Graduation at end of the Fall semester

  • Marriage

  • Medical/Serious illness

  • Active military induction

  • Withdrawal from Southeastern (classes)

  • Academic suspension

All Agreement Buy-Out Forms that meet the exceptions must include official documentation for review (i.e., on letterhead).  

Documentation must be provided for any reason a student is appealing the buy-out fee.  Appeals will NOT be reviewed without documentation.  Documentation should be forwarded via email to [email protected].
