The Operations Division of the Southeastern Louisiana University Police Department is responsible for Community Education and Engagement, Event Planning and Police Investigations.
COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND ENGAGEMENT
The University Police Department offers a wide range of community education and engagement events. UPD offers classes in RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) self defense, stalking and sexual assault awareness and prevention, and alcohol and drug awareness and prevention, to name a few. If you or your organization would like to request a guest speaker or training, please contact Lt. Gipson for scheduling.
INVESTIGATIONS, INTELLIGENCE, AND SPECIAL SERVICES
The University Police Department's Investigations Division is responsible for criminal and administrative investigations involving the Southeastern Community. Police Investigators assigned to this division are on-call 24 hours and respond to all major crime scenes and any other investigations to which they are assigned.
Police Investigators dress in civilian clothing unless their assignment dictates otherwise.
They work with our Uniform Patrol Division and other police agencies, sharing relevant
information and providing assistance for the benefit of the University and surrounding
