Student Printing
Many of the student computer labs at Southeastern are supported through the Student Technology Fee and approximately $100,000 of the funds annually pay for printing in the labs. Unfortunately, an estimated 40 percent of all printing in the labs is considered waste due to lack of awareness of the size of documents or through duplicate printing. The dollars spent on wasted prints means fewer funds that are available for new and updated equipment.
Southeastern’s Student Technology Fee provides many computer labs on and off campus for actively enrolled students to use. These computer labs have a print-management software called LionPrints installed on the computer stations that allows each student to manage the number of prints they use each semester. The goal of this system is to fairly distribute an adequate amount of prints to each student. The number of printed pages per student is currently calculated at 50 black/white pages per academic hour up to 1000 pages (=20+ credit hours) per semester.
Color prints are available at the Student Technology Center located in Fayard Hall 126 & 129. As of Spring 2024, color page charges have been reduced to 5:1 (For every color page printed, 5 black/white prints will be deducted from the allocated print balance.)
Note: Student printing privileges are for academic use only. Pages are to be used for printing documents and files associated with university related course work and material. Misuse may result in a violation of the computer abuse policy of the university.
