What is your fondest Southeastern memory?

I remember working on group projects with highly skilled engineers. While I understood the business aspects of the project, the engineers took it to the next level with their understanding of technology.

Did a Southeastern professor inspire you? Who was that and how was that person inspirational?

My Business Law Professor kept her course very interesting by discussing cases in class. However, Bradley O’Hara and Michael Cudd were very helpful in explaining the path that I needed to take to complete the prerequisites and complete the MBA program.

How did your Southeastern degree prepare you for success in your career?

It sharpened my financial understanding of the inner workings of businesses. The courses that I took enabled me to run a business in almost any industry, while keeping track of Revenue and P & L.

What do you enjoy about your current position/profession?

I have always liked helping others find new jobs or careers, even before I started my company. I like the process of talking to job candidates about their qualifications, experiences and expectations and the client/companies about their company needs. My company slogan from day one has been, “Andre Fremaux and Associates, Building One Career at a Time”. I also enjoy the freedom of owning my own business.

What advice would you give to a driven college student about to enter the "real world"?

I would advise students to set their own goals and be relentless about achieving them. When a goal is achieved, your confidence increases, preparing you for the next goal! Do not be afraid to take risks in life, even if that means going out of your comfort zone. But with all risk, make sure you have a well thought out plan before moving forward. And lastly, learn not only from your successes, but also from your failures.

What advice should they ignore?

When the naysayers tell you that you cannot do something, use that as motivation to accomplish your goal.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

My favorite hobby is flying. I have been a pilot since 1987 and have flown my airplane for business and pleasure through the years. I like the freedom to come and go on my own time and to spend quality time with my family. I also enjoy hunting and fishing. I have been blessed in my lifetime to have these opportunities and experiences.

Do you have a fun or interesting fact that you would like to share about yourself?

I have worn the same Brand & Model of New Balance running shoes since 1984. I am a “connoisseur of not so fine wines”
