Crystal currently serves as CEO of The Safety Place, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the community through safety education. Their mission is to save and improve the lives of youth from birth to age 18, by empowering caregivers through awareness of injury risks and prevention.
The organization is the only child safety and injury prevention non-profit in Louisiana, and their Nationally Certified Child Passenger Safety professionals help educate families about the correct use and installation of car seats; teach young drivers how to be road ready; provide education about bike safety and pedestrian skills; and administer gun safety programs and safe sleep programs.
Dedicated to the healthy development of our children, Crystal volunteers with numerous boards and organizations, including the Infant Safe Sleep Taskforce, the Healthy Blue Community Advisory Council, the Louisiana Child Passenger Safety Taskforce, Safe Kids Louisiana, and Kids Hope USA, among others.
She has also received the Southeastern Kinesiology and Health Studies Alumnus of the Year award, and the Sybil Wittmer Award for Outstanding Service in Prevention.
