Southeastern’s core values underpin the university’s culture and character of excellence and caring, and serve as the foundation on which everything else is built. They also define who we are and what you can expect from us.
The mission of the University Belonging Council is to advise the President, division heads, and other appropriate personnel on a wide array of issues and initiatives related to ensuring that Southeastern provides a welcoming campus environment that reflects the diverse nature of its students, staff, and faculty.
The council is committed to advancing strategic initiatives in accordance with the above mission. We embrace the richness of belonging and understand the importance of representation for all members of our community. We strive to create an environment where accessibility and awareness are foundational, and where tolerance, respect, and empowerment are actively cultivated.
All students should have the opportunity to thrive in an environment that fosters both collective and individualized experiences, where they are valued equally within the university community.
The university is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where all individuals are welcome. It is the responsibility of everyone in the campus community—staff, faculty, and students—to uphold dignity and respect for all.
At Southeastern, we recognize the role of varied perspectives and life experiences in enriching the resources and opportunities we offer to our students. We encourage prospective students from across the U.S. and around the world to explore if our university is the right place for them.
Our campus community members are actively engaged in initiatives that impact areas beyond the university.
At Southeastern, we understand the strategic value of fostering an environment that prioritizes a broad spectrum of programming, designed to ensure that every student, faculty, and staff member feels valued and supported.
