Academic Advising
The department of Communication and Media Studies conducts advising 2-3 weeks prior
to Priority Registration. You must meet with your academic advisor in order to have
your registration hold removed. Advising is your opportunity to discuss your portfolio,
degree progress, internships, or any academic challenges you may be facing.
Before meeting with your advisor, you must do all of the following:
- Review your degree progress
- Review courses in LeoNet and create a potential schedule
- Prepare your portfolio for your advisor to review
You will receive more information about advising in advance of priority registration
each semester. It is your responsiblilty to schedule an advising meeting and to be
prepared for registration. Advisors have both face-to-face and virtual availability. Advising is not available during academic breaks or during the break between semesters.
For any questions or assistance that you have in the meantime, please contact your
advisor. If you are unsure who to contact or have general degree questions, please
contact Mr. Hunter Waddell. Students are assigned to their advisor based on their
