Jacob Noble

Jake Noble is currently a bassist and composer based in New Orleans, LA. Jake is an active performer in the New Orleans music scene with a busy schedule as both a bandleader and sideman. The debut album “Letting Go of a Dream” is the result of a combination of Jake’s experiences working in one of the richest music scenes in the U.S mixed with his desire to express his own musical identity.

Born and raised in Arkansas, Jake earned his B.A at the University of Arkansas at Monticello where he had the opportunity to study under legendary New Orleans bassist Bill Huntington. At Huntington’s recommendation, Jake moved to New Orleans for grad school and obtained his MA in music performance in 2021 at the University of New Orleans. During this time, Jake has absorbed the diverse music scene of New Orleans while honing his skills in improvisation and composition.

While in New Orleans, Jake has performed with some of the finest musicians in the city. This extensive list includes: Doug Belote, Rex Gregory, Ricky Sebastian, Doug Garrison, Grammy awarded saxophonist Brent Rose, and internationally acclaimed guitarist Steve Masakowski. While still performing weekly in a wide array of jazz from traditional to straight ahead to free jazz, Jake has now actively turned attention toward composition to add his voice to the jazz idiom. Jake is also a seasoned educator teaching privately as well as at the university level where he currently holds an adjunct position at the University of New Orleans.
