Kaitlyn Neufeld

Dr. Kaitlyn Neufeld is Instructor of Clarinet at Southeastern Louisiana University and maintains an active career as a performer and educator. Prior to joining the faculty at Southeastern, she was based in the Dallas area where she taught woodwinds and music appreciation at Dallas College and maintained a private studio of clarinetists. Kaitlyn also served as the clarinet instructor at MidAmerica Nazarene University.

As an active performer, Kaitlyn has performed with the Kansas City Lyric Opera, New Mexico Philharmonic, Crossroads Wind Ensemble, Mesquite Symphony, Lone Star Wind Orchestra, New Texas Symphony Orchestra, Pinnacle Winds, and the Albuquerque Symphony. As a founding member of Duo Velox alongside saxophonist Dr. Aaron Burr, she has performed at prestigious conferences, including ClarinetFest, the International Duo Symposium, the Texas Music Educators Association conference, and the North American Saxophone Alliance conference.

Kaitlyn holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Clarinet Performance with a cognate in Woodwinds from the University of Kansas. Her dissertation, A Clarinetist’s Guide to Multiple Woodwinds, serves as a practical resource for clarinetists interested in doubling on other woodwind instruments. She also holds a Master of Music in Clarinet Performance from the University of New Mexico and a Bachelor of Music Education from Texas Tech University. Her primary clarinet teachers include Dr. Stephanie Zelnick, Professor Keith Lemmons, and Dr. David Shea. Additionally, Kaitlyn has studied saxophone with Dr. Ashley Kelly, Dr. Eric Lau, and Professor Vince Gnojek, and flute with Dr. Daniel Velasco.
