What is The Energize Project?

The Energize Project is a LDOE initiative aiming to Ignite, Inspire, and Energize Computer Science education in Louisiana by preparing teachers for the Computer science praxis exam.

Energize offers a unique opportunity for public and public charter school teachers of grades 6-12 to receive 40 hours of comprehensive training in preparation for the Computer Science Praxis exam (5652).

Recap of our Spring 2024 Energize Project Training

Our inaugural Spring 2024 Training, aimed to expand and prepare Louisiana’s Computer Science education workforce.

The Spring 2024 Energize Project training provided almost 800 Louisiana public and public charter school teachers with cutting edge training and study materials tailored for the Computer Science Praxis Exam. 

Educators from all over Louisiana attended training sessions hosted and developed by instructors from Southeastern Louisiana University’s department of computer science. 

The Spring 2024 Energize Project featured 5 cohorts, with remote and in person training options, 40 hours of in depth training for the 5652 Praxis, study materials, practice tests, office hours, review sessions, and a $350 stipend upon course completion!
