Chartered in 1963 under President Luther H. Dyson, the Southeastern Louisiana University Foundation was created to secure, manage, and steward the resources necessary to advance the University. For over six decades, the Foundation has stood beside Southeastern, evolving from its humble beginnings into a vital pillar of support that has funded thousands of scholarships, expanded academic programs, increased the number of professorships, and significantly grown the university endowment.

In recent years, the Foundation has successfully expanded its donor base through modern digital campaigns and young alumni outreach, helping to offset state budget cuts and promote the University throughout the region. Today, we are actively looking toward the future by focusing on holistic student care and long-term sustainability through initiatives such as:

  • Student Support: Enhancing campus food pantry services and emergency family assistance funds.
  • Philanthropic Culture: Cultivating a spirit of giving back among current students to graduate well-rounded citizens.
  • Operational Excellence: Implementing modern best practices and operational systems to secure the Foundation’s success for the next half-century.

Every gift—large or small—has a ripple effect that touches countless lives and drives Southeastern’s pursuit of excellence. We are deeply grateful for our donors, whose generosity fuels the educational, economic, and cultural development of southeast Louisiana.
