The Eileen D. Lacour Endowed ScholarshipThe scholarship was established by Tommy LaCour ‘87 and family, friends and colleagues 
to support women in education. This scholarship will serve to financially aid a female
student at Southeastern pursuing a degree in Education. 

Billy and Luana Ladner Endowed Scholarship in  Athletics (Football) The scholarship was established by Billy Ladner ‘13 and his wife Lu.  Billy is a two
sport All American in baseball and football who played for Southeastern in the early
1960’s.  He was a member of the Lions teams which won back to back Gulf States Conference
championships. He is a member of Southeastern’s Athletic Hall of Fame.  Billy left
the University just 3 courses shy of getting his degree, but returned in 2013 to complete
his degree. The scholarship benefits a Southeastern football player.

Dr. and Mrs. John Walter Lambert Endowed Scholarship in Health Science Dr. Lambert moved to the Village of Tangipahoa to practice medicine after finishing
his studies at Tulane. He was a prominent member of the community, owning a pharmacy,
hardware and general store in addition to his practice. He was also active in banking,
civic, and fraternal organizations.  Norma Lambert endowed the scholarship with a
gift from her estate.  

The Norma Lambert Endowed Scholarship The scholarship was established with an estate gift from Norma Lambert who resided
in the Village of Tangipahoa and was a long time educator.   It benefits an Education 
student  majoring in Elementary or Secondary Education. 

Rhonda Beth Lambert Memorial Scholarship The scholarship was established by Lyle Lambert ‘86 with funds provided by the estate
of his relatives, Warren Lambert  ‘56 and Barbara Wells Lambert. The scholarship supports
a student with disabilities. 

LaNeaf – Lilburn “Lee” Jones Scholarship in Nursing The Louisiana Nursing Education Aid Foundation (LaNeaf) established this scholarship
because LaNeaf founder, Mr. Jones was inspired through interactions with Southeastern
nursing students on their clinical rotations while a family member was receiving treatment
in a Baton Rouge hospital. LaNeaf endowed the scholarship to provide a deserving nursing
student with financial assistance. 

LaNeaf – Mary Seal and W.K. “Bill” Carlile Endowed Scholarship The Louisiana Nursing Education Aid Foundation (LaNeaf) established this scholarship to support additional Southeastern nursing students in
memory of LaNeaf founder Mr. Lee Jones’ mother and step-father
. 

LaNeaf – Lilburn “Lee” and Debra Jones Scholarship in Nursing (Ochsner)The Louisiana Nursing Education Aid Foundation (LaNeaf) established this scholarship to support Southeastern nursing students who are or have participated in the Ochsner
Summer Nurse Tech program or who are or will be completing clinical rotations at an
Ochsner Hospital or Medical Center in Baton Rouge.

Virginia L. Langston Endowed Scholarship in Family and Consumer Sciences Dr.  Langston ‘46 received her Bachelor’s degree in Vocational Home Economics at Southeastern. 
After earning several other degrees and certifications, she taught Home Economics
at the high school level and later served as the home economics supervisor for the
Louisiana Department of Education. In 1966 she became head of the Department of Home
Economics at Southeastern where she remained until her retirement in 1980.  Dr. Langston
endowed the scholarship to benefit a student majoring in Family and Consumer Science.

Myra LaRue First Generation Scholarship The scholarship was established with an estate gift from Ms. Myra LaRue ‘42.  Myra
established a number of scholarships at Southeastern, but this particular one supports
a first generation student. A portion of the funds for this scholarship were provided
by a match from the Louisiana State Board of Regents.

Robert E. LaRue Endowed Scholarship in Communication Science and Disorders The scholarship was established by his sister, Myra Darouse LaRue ‘42,. Myra,  graduated
in Health, Safely, Physical Education and Coaching and was  a cheerleader while attending
Southeastern. She was the beneficiary of a scholarship herself while a student and 
established a number of scholarships at Southeastern in her lifetime. This scholarship
was the first one she endowed and it benefits a student majoring  in Communication
Science and Disorders simply because after meeting the students, faculty and clients
of the clinic, she wanted to help the department.

Rebecca “Jane” Lauderdale Endowed Scholarship The scholarship was established by her son, James R. “Bubba” Lauderdale ‘74 and other
family members in their mother Jane’s memory.  Jane was the matriarch of her family
and loved by all who knew her.  The scholarship supports a student who is a single
parent, with preference for a mother.

Barton & Mary Leader Endowed Scholarship in Athletics The scholarship was established by Bart Leader ‘90 and his wife, Angie Delatte Leader
‘97 in honor of his parents, Barton and Mary Leader of Maurepas.  While a student,
Bart majored in Physical Education and was a graduate assistant in the Alumni office
and Angie was an elementary Education major and a Lady Lion basketball player.  The
scholarship supports a Southeastern football player. 

Hubie Leader Endowed Scholarship The scholarship was established in his memory by Hubert and Crick Leader, parents
of Hubie, who was a student at Maurepas High School and had registered to attend Southeastern. 
The student must be a graduate of Maurepas High School.

Rodney P. LeBlanc Endowed Scholarship in Accounting Mr. LeBlanc ‘69 , a CPA in the New Orleans region and  former member of the Southeastern
Foundation Board of Directors established the scholarship  during his tenure on the
Board to provide assistance to an Accounting major.

Desiree Ledet Endowed Scholarship in Theatre The scholarship was established in honor and in memory of Desiree Ledet ‘83 by her
college roommate and longtime friend, Donna Gay Anderson ‘81 and Donna Gay’s husband,
Tom Anderson ‘73. Desiree appeared in many local, regional and New York productions
throughout her three-decades long acting career using the skills and knowledge obtained
through her studies at Southeastern.  The scholarship benefits an entering freshman
with a passion for Theatre.

Sharon Ackermann Ledet Endowed Scholarship in the Visual Arts The scholarship was established in Sharon’s memory by her husband, Michael  and son,
Jesse Ledet. .  Michael is an artist and book designer  who relocated to Hammond from
New Orleans  after Katrina and just prior to his wife’s passing. Michael was a leader
at the Hammond Regional Arts Center and the Friends of Sims Library. The scholarship
is awarded to a student  majoring in the Visual Arts. 

Dorothy R. Lee Excellence in Business Endowed Scholarship The scholarship  was created by Mr. Robert “Robbie” Lee ‘75.  Robbie is a State Farm
agent and established the scholarship  as a tribute to his mother Dorothy. This scholarship
provides financial assistance to a student majoring in any discipline offered by the
College of Business. 

Robert W. Lee Scholarship (Athletics) The scholarship was established by Robert “Robbie” Lee ‘75 and it supports a student
participating in collegiate basketball.

Christina Smith Leto Endowed Scholarship in Supply Chain Management Established by Smitty’s Supply Inc to honor College of Business graduate Christina
Smith Leto (2015) and to  support the Supply Chain Management degree program that
offers excellent career opportunities for graduates, including employment opportunities
at Smitty’s.

Maya Levy Fine and Performing Arts Endowed Scholarship The scholarship was established by James  Griffith ‘92 and Jackie Pope Griffith ‘96
in honor of James’ mother, Maya Levy ‘62.  Maya founded the Hammond Cultural Foundation
and was responsible for the downtown Hammond Levy Building  becoming an art center. 
Maya was a prolific artist, published author, playwright, actor, director and teacher.
She was a Fulbright awardee. Her art is on display in North Oaks Medical Center, as
well as many homes and businesses throughout Hammond. The scholarship was created
for students, like Maya, who love creating art.

Don & Willie Lewis Endowed Scholarship (Baseball) The scholarship was established in 1999 by Don Lewis and his wife Willie.  Don played
baseball for the Lions in 1954 and 1955, and later in the minor leagues.  The scholarship
is for a baseball player.

Joey Lewis Endowed Scholarship in Industrial Technology The scholarship was endowed in Joey’s memory by his grandmother,  Mrs. W.H. Lewis.
Joey was a student in Industrial Technology at the time of his passing and it provides
support for a student, like Joey,  majoring in Industrial Technology. 

Myra C. Lillard Scholarship in Home Economics The scholarship was endowed through a bequest made by  her husband, Purser Lillard, 
in her memory to recognize outstanding students in the field of home economics and
to encourage other students to enter the field.  It  will  provide assistance to deserving
students majoring in Family and Consumer Science, formerly referred to as Home Economics.

Amy Livingston-Oberschmidt Endowed Scholarship in Tennis The scholarship was established by Phil and Ann Livingston  in honor of their daughter
Amy who was a collegiate tennis player. Amy received a Master of Education in Counseling
in 1997 from Southeastern and was employed at the University for many years. and is
the recipient of the L.E. Chandler Award given by the University for her work with
students. The scholarship is for a Southeastern tennis player. 

Lacy Ann Livingston Memorial Scholarship in the Visual Arts Phil and Ann Livingston established the scholarship in memory of their daughter Lacy,
who was taken by illness at a very young age.  Lacy is remembered as a happy child
who loved all the activities that young children do, including art activities at school.
Phil, a member of the Southeastern Board of Directors, and his wife Ann, co-chaired
the Campaign for Visual and Performing Arts and the scholarship benefits a student
majoring in Visual Arts.

Lacy Ann Livingston and Amy Livingston Oberschmidt Endowed Scholarship in Advanced
Nursing Practice
 
Established by their parents, Phil and Ann Livingston, the scholarship  provides financial
assistance to a Southeastern graduate student enrolled in the Advanced Nursing Practice
Master’s program. It acknowledges the appreciation Phil and Ann have for the nurses
who cared for their daughter Lacy during her illness, and honors  their daughter Amy
Livingston Obershmitt ‘97, who is a Southeastern Master of Counselor Education graduate.  

Elizabeth D. and Jules C. Lockhart Endowed Scholarship in Accounting  Established by RAM Limited Partnership under the direction of Robert “Bob” A. Maurin,
III, the scholarship honors Jules Lockhart for his loyal service to the company. He
was first employed as an accountant by Robert A. Maurin, Jr. and then later by his
son, Robert “Bob” A. Maurin, III. Jules has been with the company for over 45 years.
The scholarship is for a Southeastern student majoring in Accounting,

Oscar and Billie Jean Lofton Endowed Scholarship in Athletics (Football) The scholarship was established by former collegiate player and Southeastern football
coach Oscar Lofton ‘66. Coach Lofton was an all conference selection, three-sport
letterman and professional football player. Billie Jean received a degree in Vocational
Home Economics in 1986 from Southeastern. Their scholarship supports a Southeastern
football player.

The Louisiana Mosquito Control Association Scholarship in Biology The scholarship was established with a contribution  from The Louisiana Mosquito Control
Association and was facilitated by Dennis Wallette, Jr. ‘87, the Director of Tangipahoa
Parish, Mosquito Abatement District.  to provide financial aid to a student enrolled
in the Master’s in Biology curriculum.

Louisiana Society of CPAs Northshore Chapter Accounting Scholarship The scholarship was established by the Association, many of whose members are Southeastern
graduates, to support students majoring in Accounting.

Patsy Melancon Loupe & Patrick Lacy Loupe, Sr. Endowed Scholarship Dana Loupe Vicknair, 1986 accounting graduate, established this scholarship in memory
of her parents for a Southeastern Accounting major. 

Joseph A. Luquet, Jr., Excellence in Business Endowed Scholarship Established by Joe Luquet ‘68, a member of the Southeastern Foundation Board of Directors
from 1997 until his passing in June 2018. That same year Joe was the  recipient of
the President’s  Loyal Lion Award for the commitment he exhibited in his lifetime
to the University.  Joe supported the University in all the ways a graduate can, as
a board member, a volunteer, a donor, a mentor and an employer of Southeastern graduates.
  The scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to a student majoring
in Business, who graduated from Mandeville High School, Covington HIgh, St. Paul’s,
SSA or Arch Bishop Hannan High Schools.
