Honors Living Learning Community

Learn where you Live. Love where you Learn.

Every fall, the Honors Program partners with University Housing to offer a Living Learning Community (LLC) open only to first-year students in the Honors Program. The community is housed in Ascension Hall – a terrific residence hall located in the heart of campus and dedicated exclusively to Honors Program students.

Students participating in the LLC will:

  • Live together in Ascension Hall
  • Enroll in special sections of Honors SE 1017 taught right where you live
  • Be encouraged to enroll in at least one more class together

The Honors LLC is a special program housed in Ascension Hall. Even if you live in Ascension Hall and choose not to participate in LLC programming, ALL Honors Program students are encouraged to enjoy Honors-specific programming offered right where you live!

Benefits of Joining an LLC:

Participation in a learning community offers a number of benefits, all of which help promote your academic and social success at Southeastern. As with anything, you’ll get out of it what you put into it, but the potential benefits of living in a learning community include:

  • Earning a higher GPA
  • Making friends fast
  • Diving into an area that interests you
  • Taking a class right where you live
  • Having greater satisfaction with your college experience
  • Being more likely to persist to graduation.

Will I attend every LLC event?

LLC Members must earn five (5) attendance points for participating in events in the fall semester and three (3) in the spring. Many students attend way more than the minimum, but we know Honors students are a busy lot. Get to what you can.
