iPad Checkout

Availability

Funded through a Student Technology Fee grant, Sims Library has 10 iPads available to checkout to students. The iPads can be checked out from Media on second floor during regular business hours. Only current students may check out iPads. Students must be in good standing and must read, agree to, and sign the iPad Loan Agreement. The iPad Loan Agreement must be read and signed each time an iPad is borrowed. iPads are not restricted to library or Southeastern's campus.

Fines and Replacement

A $15.00 late fee will be assessed each day that the iPad is returned past due its due date. The replacement cost for a lost, stolen, or damaged iPad is $500. A charge of $40.00 will be assessed for each lost power cord and adapter or VGA Adapter; $29 for wireless keyboard; $50.00 for a lost case. Damage charges will be assessed on the actual repair costs.

 

Loan Period

iPads can be checked out from Media during regular operating hours. The loan period is 7 days for undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students. iPads are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Sims Library cannot guarantee that an iPad will be available. iPads must be returned or renewed in person, and can only be renewed once. Do not put any equipment in the book drop.

 

Use Policies

The iPads have 16GB of storage and are equipped with Wi-Fi networking. The iPad comes with a suite of preloaded files and apps, but users may sync additional data and applications, with the understanding that all data will be completely erased and replaced when the iPad is returned to Sims Library Media.
