Sims Library welcomes new Librarians

Sims Library is pleased to introduce its new Reference Librarians. Welcome to the Sims Family!

 Theresa Corbin

Theresa Corbin received a B.A. in English Literature from the University of South Alabama (2012) and an MLIS from LSU (2021). She enjoyed a seven year writing career in which her work was featured in the Washington Post and CNN among other international and domestic media. More recently she has worked as a Program and Outreach librarian for Tangipahoa Parish Public Library’s Hammond and Loranger branches. Corbin’s areas of interest include the Information Search Process, Library as Place, The Future of Academic Libraries, and The Library’s Role in Oppressive Systems. Corbin is also the proud parent of two cats and too many rabbits.

Jessica Joseph

 Jessica Jones

Jessica Joseph received an MLIS from LSU, a Master of Arts in Education Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Phoenix, and BS in Computer Information Systems from Grambling State University. The majority of her work experience is in Information Technology with experience in system and database support, and quality assurance. She also has experience in academic libraries providing cataloging, collection development, research and technical support. She will be teaching online LS 102 this fall.  

Donis Marie Lambert

Donis Marie Lambert, who prefers to be called Marie, is from Kentwood, Louisiana and has lived in Tangipahoa Parish all her life. She graduated Southeastern in 2017 with a Bachelors of Arts in History and is currently enrolled in her final semester at LSU to earn a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS), specializing in Academic Libraries. While attending Southeastern, Marie worked as a student worker in the Serials Department of Sims Memorial Library, greatly influencing her career trajectory into Librarianship. Prior to working at Sims Memorial Library, she managed a bar, ran the Service Department for an insurance company and, most recently, worked at the Kentwood Branch of the Tangipahoa Parish Public Library. She enjoys reading and spending time with friends and family and looks forward to attending Southeastern events, such as FanFare.
