Sims Library Reopens

Sims Memorial Library will reopen on Monday, July 20. The Library has new COVID-19 protocols, such as social distancing and a mask requirement for those entering the building. The Library has also expanded its popular new Sims 2-Geaux curbside pickup service to four days per week through the end of summer. Sims 2-Geaux will be available Mondays through Thursdays, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

“The health and safety of the students, faculty, and staff are our top priority,” said Janie Branham, Sims Library interim director.  “We have COVID-19 protocols that will remain in effect until the University and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) lift restrictions.” said Branham.

“Since the campus closure in March, Sims Library services ran uninterrupted, thanks to staff working remotely from their homes.” said Branham. “We are looking forward to welcoming people back inside Sims Library.”

Library users who need assistance can contact the curbside service at (985-549-3968) or reference librarians at (985-549-2027) and via our 24/7 Ask-a-Librarian service, found on the library homepage
