Mindfulness Tent Offers Students a Quiet Study Break

Students who need a break from end-of-semester stress can visit the Mindfulness Tent, located in Student Union Park, April 30-May 3. “The Mindfulness Tent is a quiet space to de-stress and breathe,” said Emily Moise-Fontenot, Assistant Director of University Counseling Center. “Students can come to the tent, turn off their smartphones, relax and regain their focus for exams.”

“Inside the Mindfulness Tent, students will find a peaceful setting with rugs and seat cushions for meditation,” said Kay Grest, of University Health Center. “But, most of all, they will find quiet.” Guided meditation sessions will be offered daily at 10 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday by members of the Peace & Purpose team. The Mindfulness Tent is sponsored through a partnership of University Health Center, the Counseling Center, and Sims Library.
