Rooms

Group Study Rooms are available on the 4th floor. Study Carrels are available by request for current graduate students and full-time faculty only and are located on the 3rd and 4th floors.

Additional places to study and work collaboratively are throughout the library building.

Equipment Checkout Policies

All Equipment

Equipment checkout is available to current Southeastern undergraduate and postgraduate students with a valid Southeastern ID. Availability is not guaranteed; items are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Users who check out equipment or technology are subject to the Southeastern Student Code of Conduct, the Responsible Computing Policy, and the Library’s Circulation Policies.
• All library notices are sent via Southeastern email, the university’s official mode of communication.
• All equipment must be returned in person on the date due before closing (see Library Hours).
• Users are financially responsible for all penalties incurred, including damages, misuse, and late fees, up to the cost of repair or replacement.
  • Specialists may be consulted regarding repair costs. Repair costs may vary, and users may not be billed immediately.
  • Privilege may be revoked at any time due to damage, late returns, or other misuse.
  • Students who experience an extenuating circumstance (i.e., medical emergency, family emergency, or weather emergency) impacting the timely return of their library-owned materials should contact [email protected] before their due date. Once the due date has passed, the student should fill out and submit a Library Appeal Form.
  • Items returned with missing pieces are considered damaged.
• Technology checkouts may not be renewed, but students in good standing may borrow a device again by bringing it to the Circulation Desk on the first floor prior to the due date. This is dependent on availability and the discretion of Library employees.

Chromebooks

The loan period is twenty-eight (28) days. (Checkout length may be shortened at the end of the semester.)

• Fines: $5 per business day up to $60.* (This fine is not reversible.)
• Must be returned inside the library at the circulation desk during regular business hours. (Do not use the book drop.)
• All Chromebook checkouts are subject to the following after seven (7) days late:
  • The Chromebook will be remotely disabled.
  • The user will be billed the full replacement cost to their student fees. ($457)
  • The user will have their technology checkout privileges suspended for the remainder of the current semester.
• After fourteen (14) days late, the user will be notified by the Office of Student Advocacy and Accountability (OSAA) stating that if the device is not returned within two (2) weeks of receipt, an official investigation will be opened by OSAA.
• If the Chromebook is returned within thirty (30) days after the due date, the replacement fee may be reversed following device inspection, and if the device is found to be damage-free and in good working order. However, the late fine will still apply.
• Students who experience an extenuating circumstance (i.e., medical emergency, family emergency, or weather emergency) impacting the timely return of their library-owned materials should contact [email protected] before the due date. Once the due date has passed, the student should fill out and submit a Library Appeal Form.
