Southeastern's student-led annual community service event, The Big Event, will take
place Saturday, March 25, 2017. The city of Hammond and the surrounding communities show endless support to our
campus family here at Southeastern. We invite students, faculty, staff and alumni
to join us at The Big Event as we say “Thank You” through our efforts to give back.
Last year, nearly 600 students joined us. Be a part of something big this year!
The Big Event is hosted by Southeastern's Student Government Association. Job requests are now being accepted through Feb. 24 from community members and organizations. Common jobs include activities like painting houses, raking yards, landscaping, laying bricks and more.
Student team registrations also are being accepted through March 10 at 12:30 p.m. Team Captain meetings will be held on Feb. 9 and Feb. 13 at 6:30 p.m. in the Office for Student Engagment in Student Union, Room 2307. Participating students receive free t-shirts and gain valuable service experience while interacting with the residents of Southeastern's community.
