Spring Events

The green and gold daffodils are blooming, and campus is buzzing with activity. Springtime at Southeastern brings about cool games, spicy food and university-wide camaraderie.

Hosted by Southeastern Athletics, "Super Lion Saturday" will take place Saturday, April 12. The spirit-filled day for the community will feature a fun run at 8 a.m., the spring football game at noon, a home baseball game at 3 p.m. and a fundraising bash hosted by Lion Athletics Association at 7 p.m.

The annual springtime favorite "Strawberry Jubilee" will be held Wednesday, April 16, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students can enjoy free activities and favorites such as red beans and rice, strawberries and other sweet treats. Sponsored by Campus Activities Board, the event will be held outdoors between the Southeastern Lab School and the Rec Center.

The Rec Center will host several "Spring Daze" activities the week of April 28, starting with "De-Stress at the Rec" on Tuesday, April 29, where students can recharge and relax with free chair massages, pizza, an ice cream bar and more from 8 p.m. to midnight. On Thursday, May 1, students are invited to "Rec Fest" for free crawfish and a live outdoor concert starting at 4 p.m. The week of spring fun continues with Swamp Bowl on Friday, May 2, and the Mudder Mayhem 5K on Saturday, May 3.

Also on Thursday, May 1, University Housing and Dining Services will present the annual "Fais Do-Do" crawfish boil from 4 to 7 p.m. outside of the Student Union. Students can use their meal plans, pay $10 with Lion's Lagniappe and Cub Cash or pay $12 plus tax with cash, credit or debit.
