SOUTHEASTERN’S 22nd  DOUBLE REED WORKSHOP – A dozen students from Southeastern Louisiana University and area high schools recently participated in the university’s 22nd annual Double Reed Workshop, two days of specialized instruction for young oboe and bassoon performers. The workshop was conducted by Southeastern music professor Jerry Voorhees, a renowned expert on woodwind fingering systems, and Robert Carter, first bassoon of the St. Louis Philharmonic Orchestra and associate professor at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo.
