HAMMOND – The Southeastern Louisiana University Panhellenic Council will host its fourth annual Sorority Social on Sunday, July 23, from 5-7:30 p.m. in the university’s Greek Village.

The social is open to female students interested in participating in sorority recruitment in September, said Kay Maurin, director of Student Organizations/Greek Life. She said parents are also invited, and participants will be able to tour sorority houses in Greek Village, home to nine of Southeastern's 19 Greek organizations.

"This is a great opportunity to meet people and become familiar with some of the things sorority life offers at Southeastern," said Ashley Tarver, president of the Panhellenic Council. "We have quality community service opportunities, cutting edge leadership training, and a positive social network. The social allows us the chance to introduce what we have to offer to students and their parents."

Sorority recruitment is scheduled for September 7-10. Applications will be available at the social, and students who sign up at Sunday’s event will not be required to pay a registration fee. A student must be enrolled full-time at the university and possess a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average in order to participate in recruitment.
