Southeastern to host regional hurricane summit

HAMMOND – A regional summit designed to identify successes, challenges and lessons learned from Hurricane Katrina will be held at Southeastern Louisiana University on Friday, March 24.
The summit for area leaders will be held at the University Center, room 139, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Sponsored by Louisiana Sen. Ben Nevers, the university, the Region IX Health Care Consortium and the Department of Health and Hospitals/Office of Public Health, the meeting is intended to identify and share specific issues and to increase collaborative initiatives among area parishes as preparation for future catastrophic events.
Region IX includes St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, St. Helena, Livingston, and Washington parishes.
