HAMMOND – The Southeastern Louisiana University Small Business Development Center is co-hosting a seminar on QuickBooks Pro with the Hammond Chamber of Commerce and a loan workshop with the Louisiana PTAC Southeast and the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The SBDC conducts seminars and workshops annually to inform small businesses of current practices and changing trends in the workplace.

The QuickBooks Pro seminar is a two-night, hands-on course, said Sandy Summers, SBDC assistant director. The seminar is scheduled for Sept. 26 and Sept. 28, 5-8 p.m., at Southeastern’s Garret Hall, home of the College of Business. William Joubert, director of Southeastern’s Southeast Louisiana Business Center, is seminar instructor.

Summers said topics will include creating invoices and tracking receivables, generating reports and graphs, entering and paying bills, and tracking and paying sales tax.

Fees are $100 per person for the two-day seminar. Because of limited seating, participants are asked to pre-register.

The loan workshop is scheduled for Sept. 27, 5-8 p.m., at the Southeast Louisiana Business Center, 1514 Martens Drive.

“This event will address options for a variety of lines of credit -- seasonal, contract, builders, and asset based,” Summers said. Presenters will also discuss the benefits of a line of credit and will be given an opportunity to apply for lines of credit up to $2 million.

Cost to attend the workshop is $10. Pre-registration is encouraged.

For more information and to pre-register, contact Summers at 985-549-3831 or sbdc@selu.edu.
