Southeastern to hold memorial for Virginia Tech victims Wednesday afternoon

HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University will hold a memorial service at 4 p.m. Wednesday (April 18) for the victims of the tragic mass shootings at Virginia Tech.
The brief ceremony, scheduled for the War Memorial Student Union park, will include remarks by President Randy Moffett. Student Government Association President Aron Walker III and Vice President Paul Donaldson will read the names of the deceased members of the Virginia Tech family, while fellow students toll bells for each victim.
Southeastern is inviting all area churches to join in the memorial by tolling their church bells at 4:20 p.m.
The memorial service is open to all members of the Southeastern community as well as to family, friends and area residents.
