Southeastern SBDC hosts QuickBooks Simple Start classes

HAMMOND – The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana University, along with the East St. Tammany, Hammond, and Livingston Parish Chambers of Commerce, will host a series of QuickBooks Simple Start seminars during National Small Business Week, April 21-25.
The seminars are scheduled for Tuesday, April 22 at the East St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce in Slidell; Wednesday, April 23 at the Southeast Louisiana Business Center in Hammond, and Thursday, April 24 at the Livingston Parish Literacy and Technology Center in Walker. All classes will be held from 9-10:30 a.m.
“QuickBooks Simple Start is a great tool for businesses that need just the basics for cash flow management and tax planning,” said Sandy Summers, assistant director of the SBDC. “Some of the areas that will be discussed include managing payroll, tracking sales, and customer payments.”
Summers said the seminars are free and open to any business. Attendees will receive a free version of QuickBooks Simple Start 2008.

Also in connection with National Small Business Week, on Thursday, April 24 the Southeastern SBDC will provide consulting sessions by appointment at the East St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce in Slidell and will man a resource table at the Hammond Chamber of Commerce general meeting at Twelve Oaks at noon.
“SBDC consultants will provide a wealth of information related to small business,” Summers said.
