HAMMOND -- High school juniors and their families are invited to Southeastern Louisiana University’s “Junior Day,” Saturday, April 24, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
The informal and entertaining introduction to the university will begin with check-in at 10 a.m. at Southeastern’s Pennington Student Activity Center, located on the corner of University Avenue and North General Pershing.
After checking in, participants can browse academic and other Southeastern-related displays. They can also meet with faculty and staff during an information session and learn about Southeastern’s admissions standards and procedures, campus life and services, financial aid and scholarship opportunities.
Afternoon activities will include lunch and campus tours, including visits to the university’s residential community.
“This is a great time for high school juniors to begin narrowing down their college choices in order to find the right fit for them,” said Anthony Ranatza, assistant director of admissions. “Junior Day is a sneak peek into all the great things Southeastern has to offer.”
As an added bonus this year, attendees can plan to stay for the Southeastern softball home game at 3 p.m. as the Lady Lions take on conference foe Sam Houston State or attend the Southeastern football spring game at 2 p.m. in Strawberry Stadium. Admission is free for Junior Day attendees to both events.
Interested participants can register online through the Junior Day button on the Southeastern home page, www.selu.edu. For additional information on Junior Day, call 1-800-222-SELU or 985-549-5637.
